Share the file so ReadVideo can read it
Open the sharing settings
In Google Drive, select the video or audio file (or the folder that holds it) and choose Share.
Set General access to “Anyone with the link”
Under General access, change Restricted to Anyone with the link. The role can stay Viewer.
Keep downloads allowed
In the sharing settings (the gear icon), leave “Viewers and commenters can see the option to download, print, and copy” turned on. If it is off, ReadVideo cannot fetch the file.
Copy the link and paste it above
Choose Copy link and paste it into the link box. A single file goes straight to transcription; for a folder, you choose which files to import.

Why does my Drive link fail?
Usually the file is still Restricted, downloads are turned off for viewers, or the link is not to a video or audio file. Check the sharing steps above and paste the link again.
Can I paste a folder link?
Yes. Share the folder with Anyone with the link; ReadVideo lists what it contains and you choose which files to import. Each file becomes its own transcript.
Does ReadVideo keep my file?
ReadVideo copies the file to transcribe it and to play it beside the transcript; your Drive file is not changed. Signed-out trial media is deleted 3 hours after upload. Signed-in free accounts keep the transcript while the media is deleted after 3 hours; paid plans keep media within their storage allowance.
